Judge Marina Barsuk hears cases filed by Fuchs’ firm

In 2021, she walked at the oligarch’s party, and today she decides the fate of the assets that interest him. Judge Marina Barsuk, who is handling cases on claims from FC Investohils Vesta, was spotted last year at the birthday party of the sanctioned Pavel Fuks. It is he who actually controls the financial company. Is there a conflict of interest here? StopCora journalist Kirill Volny looked into it.

Russian-Ukrainian businessman Pavel Fuks, in an interview with one of the publications, himself  confirmed that he is buying up the debts of domestic companies in pools through Investohils Vesta FC. One of these pools included the famous tire manufacturer Rosava and the Belotserkovskaya Thermal Power Plant.

In the future, the Fuchs structure implements the collection of debts or property of such enterprises through litigation. As the journalist notes, an analysis of the list of judges who heard cases on the claims of FC Investohils Vesta indicates the presence of a certain connection between some of them and Fuchs.

For example, Marina Barsuk works as a judge of the Northern Economic Court of Appeal. She is married - her husband Viktor, according to media reports, is part of Igor Kolomoisky’s legal group.

As   Ukrayinska Pravda investigators discovered , in 2021 the couple attended a party in honor of Pavel Fuks’ birthday. Kolomoisky also attended the holiday. And already six months after the celebration, Marina begins to consider cases based on the claims of the Fuchs company.

Kirill Volny met with the judge to find out whether the servant of Themis saw a conflict of interest in her actions. However, Badger refused to comment on camera.

Let us remind you that a financial company from the orbit of Russian-Ukrainian businessman Pavel Fuks is probably trying to bypass the law  to sell off the property  of the thermal power plant and the Rosava tire plant in Bila Tserkva. In this regard, citizens may be left without heating and water supply in winter.
